RAS provides borehole geophysical logging services for a wide variety of projects associated with water supply, mining, groundwater management, and infrastructure. Geophysical logging is used to acquire data about the subsurface geology and other details wich may control groundwater flow and groundwater quality. Additionally, borehole geophysical logging is applied to develop in-situ and real time images of what is occurring underneath the surface to understand fractures, structural components, and other features in a single borehole or across multiple boreholes to characterize a wider area.
Borehole geophysical logging is more cost effective and faster than using core methods to develop an understanding of the stratigraphy, structure, and geologic layers that are critical to many project objectives. Borehole geophysical logging is conducted after a hole is drilled and can be applied in open holes and cased wells, including angled and vertical borings. Our typical depth of investigation is in the near-surface, or shallower than 2000-3000 feet.
What Are The Different Geophysical Logs?
RAS provides a full suite of standard borehole geophysical logging methods such as: natural gamma, caliper, sonic, temperature, fluid electrical conductivity, EM induction, deviation and E-logs (normal resistivity, spontaneous potential, single point resistance).
Borehole Logging Imaging Methods
We also offer a full range of borehole imaging methods including optical televiewer, acoustic televiewer, and analog video logging.
What We Do
RAS also provides state of the art technologies such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and EM flowmeter hydrophysical logging. These methods represent the latest methods available for understanding geology and fluid flow in the subsurface.
In addition to acquitting data about the geology and structural integrity, borehole logging is applied to assess and troubleshoot well performance. If there is a problem observed at the surface, sometimes the cause is an issue with the well completion or construction.
RAS integrates the data acquired from geophysical logging into full color montages which illustrate the results.
Services
At RAS, Inc., our services, technologies, and unique capabilities are used to help find sites that have contamination problems and to find solutions for sustainability.
About Us
We use our technology to figure out how to clean up contaminated areas, find ways to use less water, and help with other environmental projects. We work on these projects for both large and small clients.
